Christmas is the time of year when we all like to sparkle and our teeth are no exception. We were kindly sent the StylSmile Lighten Up! set to test out and here is what Holly from our team thought.

“The StylSmile kit is the only product to combine 3 scientifically proven methods to clean and whiten your teeth each time you brush.
STYLSMILE toothpaste includes the whitening ingredient called Phthalimido- peroxy-hexanoic acid (PAP). PAP targets the un-natural double bonds which cause tooth discolorations. It dissolves the stains in the enamel safely and effectively, to whiten your teeth. Many whitening kits use course abrasives to wear away the enamel. We’ve heard what the experts have to say and learned how it works, but how does it perform? We sent our resident beauty lover, Holly, off to try this out.
“Did someone say ‘beauty’? I’ve got this one covered! the StylSmile Lighten up! kit looks pretty intense with it’s light up toothbrush on the front of the packaging and inside has everything from toothpaste to the bluelight.
Using this is actually quite simple. There was already a brush head applied (there is an additional ‘hard’ brush head available in the kit), applied some of the special toothpaste and turned it on. The bright light was then on and I brushed my teeth, as normal, for two minutes. In terms of noise, this sounds similar to a phone vibrating. There are two settings available.
At no stage did this feel uncomfortable or sensitive, my teeth felt the same as always after brushing. StylSmile recommend using this as you normally would use your toothbrush – twice a day for 2 minutes.

I then followed up by attaching the mouth trays to the blue light (literally just press and play!), applied some toothpaste to the top tray and to the bottom one before turning the light on and leaving on for 15 minutes as advised in the instructions.
In terms of whiteness, I have used this twice now and already see a difference. My teeth look and feel squeaky lean. I have high hopes for how this will perform over the coming weeks and we will update you on our twitter page after the 4 weeks are up!”
