WINNER: Iceland Luxury 6 Butter Mince Pies, BUY HERE
When it comes to choosing our top pick, we all have to agree that each bite should feel like a taste of Christmas magic—and Iceland’s mince pies deliver that perfectly! Each mouthful captures the spice of the season. Heaped with tasty plump fruits that were not too sweet but sweet enough and a good kick of booze. It’s official: these mince pies are our holiday champions!
SECOND PLACE: Tesco Finest 4 Luxurious Fruity Mince Pies, £3.50 – BUY HERE
Tesco’s delightful treats are irresistibly sweet and perfectly crumbly, with a charming, old-fashioned Christmas look that brings a cosy holiday warmth to each bite. Generously filled, the first taste reveals a buttery shortcrust pastry that’s rich and thick, delivering a satisfying mouthful. Inside, the plump, juicy fruit bursts with indulgent, runny plum flavours, each bite more luxurious than the last. If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll fall head over heels for these!
THIRD PLACE: Exceptional by ASDA 6 Luxury Mince Pies, £2.75 – BUY HERE
Asda’s mince pies strike the perfect balance of tangy and sweet, packed to the brim with luscious, fruity mincemeat where the zesty lemon peel truly shines. Warm spices like ginger and clove add a festive kick, while just the right touch of alcohol rounds out the flavour. Here’s a tip: try them warmed up for an extra treat—you won’t be disappointed!
Co-Op Irresistable Chocolate and Blood Orange Frangipan Mince Pies, 4pk, £2.75 – BUY HERE
The blend of zesty blood orange mincemeat and rich, indulgent chocolate brought a wonderfully festive flavour to each bite. The addition of almonds provided the perfect balance, offsetting the chocolate’s sweetness and creating a delightful twist on the classic mince pie.
Sainsbury’s Mince Pies, Taste The Difference 6pk, £3 – BUY HERE
These mince pies leaned a bit on the sweeter side for our taste and could have used a touch more boozy richness. However, the pastry was delightfully crumbly, melting in the mouth, and the mincemeat was packed with plenty of currants and zesty peel—adding a lovely texture and flavour burst in each bite!
