John Lewis has kicked the festive vibes into high gear as UK retailers unveil their new Christmas themes — and honestly, it’s making us want to get the tree up right now!
From their first-ever pre-lit gold Christmas tree to quirky vacuum baubles and a theatre-inspired theme, this year’s collection is packed full of festive magic.
This festive season, the UK retailer has announced four brand-new themes: Heirloom Splendour, Enchanting Tales, Worldly Treasures and Ancient Wonders. Let’s explore each trend below.
Step into sweet nostalgia with playful pastels and champagne gold accents. Retro biscuit baubles add charm, while hand-crafted felt, paper mâché, and classic stripes create a cosy, homespun vibe. Plus, for the first time, the pre-lit gold Christmas tree—already a sure-fire bestseller!

This theme draws inspiration from the magic of theatre and the timeless charm of pantomime. Rich jewel tones—deep red, peacock blue, and plum—bring a touch of drama and sophisticated sparkle to your festive space.

Inspired by nature with a magical twist—think frosty blues, deep reds, and bronzed metallics. Expect yetis, woolly mammoths, and weathered finishes that bring a wild, whimsical edge to your festive decor.

This theme is all about adventure and the stories we collect along the way. From passports and cameras to elephants and koalas, Worldly Treasures brings a globe-trotting spirit to your tree—one keepsake at a time.

Lisa Cherry, Head of Christmas, said: “This year, Christmas at John Lewis is shaped by the timeless concept of wisdom. Our four distinct themes, Heirloom Splendour, Enchanting Tales, Worldly Treasures, and Ancient Wonders, have each been thoughtfully curated by our team of expert buyers and designers to add meaning to every festive moment.
From cherished family traditions and mythical tales to far-flung travels and ancient natural wonders, this season is a celebration of the stories we share. Expect nostalgic nods, intricate beadwork, mouth-blown glass baubles and trend-led scalloped bows designed to elevate doorscaping.
Foodie favourites are back with a playful twist; our Stout Pint and retro biscuit baubles are set to be bestsellers once more. Felt animal tree decorations are definitely Maybe set to be a hit this Christmas too, with the addition of two mice inspired by a chart-topping Britpop duo.”
Just like last year’s collections, these are likely to be incredibly popular. In fact, we’re already diving deep once again into every clue we can find in hopes of uncovering a hint about what the John Lewis Christmas 2025 Advert might be!
