Lidl Christmas Advert 2026: Barry From EastEnders Just Dropped the Christmas Banger of the Year

Shaun Williamson, Chris Kamara, Kemi Rodgers and Abi Clarke walk into a Lidl Christmas advert. No, it’s not the start of a joke. It’s the most fun we’ve had all week.

Lidl Christmas advert 2026 has arrived, and we need you to turn the volume all the way up. Forget tear-jerkers. This year, Lidl has gone full Christmas party, and Barry from EastEnders is leading the conga.

Shaun Williamson, Walford legend and king of Barrioke, fronts Lidl Christmas Everybody. It’s a cheeky reimagining of Slade’s Merry Christmas Everybody, complete with brand-new lyrics and a very Lidl twist. And yes, it’s already stuck in our heads.

What happens in the Lidl Christmas advert 2026?

Picture a full-length music video where Shaun sets out to sleigh Christmas (their pun, not ours, but we love it). Armed with bags bursting with Lidl festive goodies, he goes from doorstep to doorstep spreading cheer and making his neighbours’ Christmas wishes come true.

Then, like every good Christmas knees-up, more and more people join in. Before long, Shaun has a growing crowd of followers trailing behind him. Basically, it’s the street party we all wish happened on our road.

Shaun isn’t doing this alone. Oh no. Lidl has rounded up a brilliantly random line-up of stars to join the fun:

• Chris Kamara. The football legend brings the energy, and honestly, it’s unbelievable.
• Kemi Rodgers. The Capital FM star adds some serious festive sparkle.
• Abi Clarke. The comedian and host is guaranteed to bring the giggles.

If you’d told us we’d see this foursome sing a Christmas song together, we’d have laughed. Now we just want them at our Christmas party.

Lidl’s Toy Bank is back too

Here’s the bit that makes us go all warm and fuzzy. The song launch coincides with the return of Lidl’s Toy Bank, a nationwide donation drive that has handed out more than 250,000 toys over the past four years.

From 5 November to 16 December, you can drop unopened toys and gifts into Lidl stores across Great Britain. Lidl then works with Neighbourly to share them with local children through its store partners, charities, food banks and community groups.

So next time you pop in for a bag of sprouts, why not pick up a little something for the Toy Bank too?

Our verdict

Lidl Christmas, everybody! Honestly, we’re smiling from ear to ear. After a few years of emotional Christmas adverts, Lidl has thrown the biggest party on the high street. Shaun Williamson is the perfect frontman, and the supporting cast is so gloriously unexpected that it just works. In fact, we’re seriously considering turning up to Christmas dinner head to toe in Lidl blue, red and yellow. If Barry can pull it off, so can we. (Sorry in advance to whoever’s hosting.)

So far, the Christmas advert battle has given us giants, a road trip and a missing cauliflower dog. Now we’ve got a singalong. Now let’s take a look at John Lewis’. The bar has been set (and it’s dancing).
