Shows we’re looking forward to most this Winter 2021

It’s winter, a time for the fire to be on, hot chocolate in your hand and to settle down to some of the best shows on this Winter. Take a look at some of the highlights below:

The Girl Before

This limited four-part series, The Girl is adapted by JP Delaney’s own best-selling novel and tells the story of Jane who gets to move into a beautiful, ultimate minimalist house designed by an enigmatic architect but occupants have to abide by his rules. Jane starts to feel the hour changing her in unexpected ways and makes a shocking discovery along the way.

A Very British Scandal

Starring The Crown’s Claire Foy, this BBC drama focuses on the divorce from the Duke and Duchess of Argyll, played by Paul Bettany and Claire Foy. A Very British Scandal features accusations of theft, forgery, bribery and much more. The drama will have three long-hour episodes.

This Is Going To Hurt

Based on the popular book, This Is Going To Hurt will follow junior doctor Adam, played by Ben Whishaw and tells the truth of life as a doctor working in obstetrics and gynaecology. The story sees Adam becoming increasingly overwhelmed by stress, working 97-hour weeks, making extremely difficult decisions and more.

The Larkins

Set in the late 1950s, The Larkins follows wheeler-dealer Pop Larkin played by Bradley Walsh and his wife Ma, played by Joanna Scanlan, together with their six children as they basic in a beautiful patch of paradise in Kent.

Hollington Drive

Anna Maxwell Martin and Rachael Stirling play sisters in this four-part thriller, from acclaimed screenwriter Sophie Petzal, about a young boy who goes missing. As the family wait for news on David, Eva is ready to reveal more about the days leading up to Alex’s disappearance. Will Theresa uncover the truth of what happened to Alex, or will an unsolved mystery hang like a dark cloud over Hollington Drive? This will air on ITV from Wednesday 20th October at 9.00 pm.
