Disney’s “A Holiday Short: Best Christmas Ever” features John Goodman and celebrates imagination, friendship, and the magic of the holiday season. Watch here.

November has been nothing short of fantastic for this year’s batch of Christmas adverts! From The Grinch’s heart melting in Asda’s festive ad, to Kevin proposing amid a chaotic stag do, and John Lewis tugging at our heartstrings with its nostalgic 90s-themed commercial—there’s been no shortage of festive feels.
But now, in true Disney fashion, we’re left with that unmistakable sense of magic as Disney: A Holiday Short – Best Christmas Ever launches, and we’re already swooning over the charming doodle!
As the mini film begins, we are greeted by a beautifully decorated family home, buzzing with the warmth and excitement of Christmas preparations. At the heart of the story is a little girl and her doodle, which magically comes to life on Christmas Day after Santa mistakes her drawing for a holiday wish.
The short follows the growing friendship between the girl and her animated doodle, from pool mishaps to carol struggles. When the doodle can’t sing, the girl asks Santa for a Mr. Potato Head from Toy Story, giving it to her friend so he can finally speak. Set to You’ve Got a Friend in Me, the doodle joyfully declares it’s the best Christmas ever, with Disney toys sprinkled throughout.

The film concludes with a heartwarming call to action for viewers: “Make Someone’s Holiday Magic,” the official tagline for Disney’s 2025 holiday campaign. Renowned Walt Disney Animation Studios animator Eric Goldberg—celebrated for bringing beloved characters like Genie from Aladdin (1992) to life—served as an advisor on the animation. The project was brought to life in collaboration with Untold Studios, producer Hungryman, and creative agency adam&eveDDB.
Ant Nelson & Mike Sutherland, Chief Creative Officers, adam&eveDDB London, said: “Working with Disney and Taika again has been a joy. The Holiday Short celebrates the magic of imagination and unexpected friendships. From the film to interactive doodle experiences, the campaign builds on Disney’s unique connection with families during the holiday season and beyond.”
We’re off to give it another watch!
