Bye Bye Bright Nights and HELLO Darker Autumn Days

The first day of Autumn officially arrives in the UK on Friday 22nd September 2017 which means the nights are drawing in and Christmas is getting closer.

For some it seems as though Summer has came and went quicker than a dry day but for us here at UnderTheChristmasTree we’re simply beside ourselves knowing the nights are drawing in and the festive period is nearly here.

Autumn 2017

This year the autumn equinox in the northern hemisphere takes place on Friday, September 22 – the same day as the beginning of astronomical autumn.

We’ve already seen the leaves starting to turn, berries on our tree’s and little red Robins fluttering on by, all signs of Autumn knocking at our merry door.

Winter 2017 in Northern Hemisphere will begin on Thursday 21 December however snowy days were spotted long before winter officially started last year with the first fall on October 19th at the Cairngorms, in the Scottish Highlands.
