World famous clock – Big Ben’s bongs will return this Christmas after Commons leader Andrea Leadsom asked parliamentary officials to bring the bells back for the festive season.

It’s beginning to looks like it’ll be a ding dong Christmas this year as Big Ben will chime throughout the festive season, Much needed renovations were required and this world-famous clock was silenced for four-years, for an expected £61m renovation of the Elizabeth Tower, which houses the bell.
A parliamentary spokesman said: “As has always been planned, Big Ben will still chime for important national occasions.
“We will shortly announce the schedule for sounding the bells over the Remembrance Sunday weekend and the Christmas/New Year period.”
It looks like it could well be a bing-bong Christmas as Big Ben’s iconic bongs return for the festive season and will chime from 23rd December until New Year’s Day.
