Call The Midwife 2017 Christmas Special Confirmed!

Series six may be over but fans of the BBC One drama ‘Call the Midwife’ can rejoice as it has been officially confirmed that a Christmas special will follow this year!

UPDATE: Call The Midwife has already begun filming it’s new series and Christmas special with new cast member Leonie Elliot joining.

The sixth series has left fans of the drama counting down the days until Christmas as it has been confirmed a Xmas special will air this year and what’s more there will be a further three series with a total of THREE Christmas specials.

We can confirm that the read through for the Xmas special has officially began today April 26th 2017.

Series seven, eight and nine will take the residents of Nonnatus House slap bang into the mid-1960s where they will face new changes and challenges.

Will the show air on Christmas day like last years Call the Midwifes Christmas Special? Rumors are this will be the case, however the show normally broadcasts on a Sunday which would be Christmas Eve, either way fans of the BBC One drama will tune in.

    I was looking forward to this year’s Christmas special.
    I was very disappointed with the constant commentary – It ruined it for me.
    Such a shame for an otherwise good story.
