After an emotional season, the official Call the Midwife Twitter account sent out the following tweet confirming a festive special as part of BBC’s Christmas 2022 TV line-up and season 12 airing in 2023.
Fans of the show also took to social media to declare their love for the show with many stating that this is the best series BBC has aired.

So when and what can we expect from the Call the Midwife Christmas 2022 special? Like previous years, we are 99% sure the Christmas special will air at 8pm Christmas Day 2022 on BBC One and like last year will last around 90-minutes.
What can we expect from the Christmas special? Now that order and calm has been installed back into Nonnatus House, what and more to the point will be back for the Christmas special and new series? well, Trixi will be back after her short break away and it’s likely her recovery may be a focal point.
Despite her most recent brush with death, we can expect that Agutter’s Sister Julienne will make a return for season 12 or even earlier?…
But one thing we can be assured on it’s likely to be filled with more tears, laughter and of course more babies.
