NOWtv is a smart stick which plugs into your television and allows users to watch premium TV channels without a subscription service. We were delighted when the it dropped through our office door and Elaine couldn’t wait to plug it into her TV.

This is what she thought about it: “I was delighted to put the new NOWtv Smart Stick through its paces and couldn’t wait to get it out of its strong, blue box. Nestled neatly inside the box was everything I needed to get up and running:
- NOWtv remote
- 2 x 5 volt alkaline batteries
- 3 pin plug
- Connecting cable
Now it was time for me to really get to know my TV’s new best friend and as I was new to NOWtv I firstly had to create an account and then plug in my Smart Stick to the HDMI port on my TV. After that all I had to do was sign in and get ready to start binging on an amazing collection of movies and box sets.
I found the most difficult part of installing Now TV was choosing which of the 250 box sets or 1,000 movies I wanted to watch first and with snacks at the ready I couldn’t wait to dive in. This clever little Smart Stick shows more than movies as I discovered loads of the best TV shows for children as well as exclusive live sports.
One of the downsides was that in order to use my Now TV Stick I’ve got to pay for a Now TV subscription and as it’s split into four categories – Entertainment, Cinema, Kids, and Sports I’m going to have to splash out on monthly passes for each category I want to watch. I’m not too bothered about having the Sports pass so I’ll have to cough up for the three others. From what I can see the Entertainment pass will cost £8 a month, the Cinema pass £10 and the Kids pass £4; bringing it to £22 a month which I feel is a bit pricey for many families. However it’s not all bad news as the stick does allow access to TV catch up programs and best of all there’s no contract.
I’m quite a TV fan and like most of us I really enjoy keeping up with my soaps and I feel that the Stick will help expand the range of TV programs and movies including some of the American programs by investing in the hayu pass (£3.99 per month) to my existing viewing.
All in all, yes I would happily buy the NOWtv Smart Stick and would look forward to expanding my TV viewing.”
