What better way to countdown to the big day than with a different whisky? Drinks By the Dram World Whisky advent calendar has 24 different treats and we were kindly sent this to review. Here’s what John from our team thought.
John said: “Whisky is my go-to alcoholic drink of choice, I really love trying out different kinds from all over the world but it can be quite costly buying a full size bottle to try and finding out I don’t really like it. So when the Drinks By The Dram World Whisky advent calendar arrived, I was really excited to try all of the whiskies in the advent. I don’t want to give too much away in regards to what is included but I will mention two or three of the whiskies included.
I opened up a few of the doors and the first one I got was Kavalan Single Malt Whisky. To taste this was full-bodied and had an oak with hints of vanilla and was quite a deep amber colour. Next up was The Dublin Liberties 10 Year Old Copper Alley which was a 10 year old single malt which I have to say packed a punch in terms of ABV of 46% so a little went along way. I could taste sherry and notes of walnut which I really enjoyed.
Next up was was the Hudson Baby Bourbon. I usually prefer single malts but this bourbon was delicious. I found it be sweet, rich and smooth and found it quite easy to drink.
As I mentioned I don’t want to spoil what else is in the advent but what I can say is that it is so worth the money, the whiskies in this are really tasty and good quality.
I also really loved the design of the advent calendar, it is blue and gold but it is not too bulky so this could be stored anywhere really. Each of the bottles are 30ml each which is the ideal amount if you want to have a few drinks of out one 30ml bottle.
