It’s specifications are pretty impressive too:

  • weighs just 2.4kg
  • voltage of 7.2 volts
  • 30.5 x 22.6 x 122 cm
  • cordless
  • approximately 20 minutes of continuous use in each charge
  • suitable for all sealed hard flooring including laminate, tiles, stone and wooden floors
  • fresh water tank automatically moistens the microfibre rollers.
  • forward rolling rollers
  • collected dirt is removed from the rollers and added to the dirty water tank.

We asked Elaine to test this out and here’s what she had to say:

“The Karcher FC3 certainly boasts some impressive features and specifications which is why I was all too happy to test it out.

The first thing I noticed is just how lightweight this is. I expected it to weigh similar to a vacuum cleaner but actually this is much lighter. The cleaner itself is yellow and has, what looks like, a fluffy paint roller at the bottom of it which in actual fact is the microfibre rollers.

Assembly was straight forward and took a couple of minutes at the most. There’s a picture diagram instruction sheet which shows everything from how to assemble, to how to fill and even charge it.

Also included in the box is the product registration which provides a two year warranty.  Ontop of this, there is a 30ml bottle of hard floor detergent included, aswell as a 30ml bottle of Foamstop – a citrus scented liquid which stops foaming of the detergent.

I placed this on charge by plugging it into a mains socket. The LED display shows how much charge the cleaner has and when it is fully charged which on average takes around an hour.

Filling the water tank was easily done at a standard tap which was so handy (no more faffing around with a jug!). Once I was ready, I simply clicked the water tank back into place and turned the device on.

The rollers on this this automatically glide forward which definitely makes light work of using it. As it was being used, a very small amount of water was being used, and thanks to the separate dirt collector, the water is always clean so I wasn’t just using the same dirty water to clean the floors.

This boasts 20 minutes of continuous use, but it literally took less than five minutes to clean the floor of one room. One tank of water would easily last round a modestly sized home or office.

This collected everything from dust to grease and light stains. The floor was dry within a couple of minutes which was ideal, as our cat is less than patient!

I’m really impressed with this and would definitely use it again.”
