Christmas Gift Review: Maui Jim Kawika Sunglasses

We were delighted when we were asked to review the Maui Jim Kawika Sunglasses and quickly passed them over to John to put them through their paces.

This is what he had to say about them:-

“Truthfully this is the first time I’d heard of Maui Jim sunglasses but I’m pretty sure it won’t be the last!

I like to deal with a company who’s prepared to back up their product with a guarantee and these simple, general purpose sunglasses come with a 2 year warranty.  According to the leaflet that comes with the glasses Maui Jim Sunglasses feature patented PolarizedPlus2 technology and offer the most advanced glass protection available.

These are solid looking glasses yet they are light and could comfortably be worn all day and I was really impressed with the glass lenses which give a clearer, crisper view. The only downside to glass is that unlike the poly carbonate variety these will certainly break when dropped so they’re not ideal for throwing around.

The glasses come in a sturdy, clam shaped, herringbone patterned box and inside you will find not just the sunglasses but also a soft material pouch which has a Hawaiian pattern

If you like your sunglasses to have a bit of bling about them then these probably won’t be the ones for you. Personally I prefer something a little simple that won’t go out of style within a short time

In my opinion the Kawaki are good looking, high quality sunglasses, which feature gloss black frames with pewter metal and neutral grey polarized lenses. They are simply stylish making them perfect for wearing regularly and understated enough for casual wear.

I thoroughly enjoyed putting these sunglasses through their paces and can happily tell you that I have never owned such a comfortable, high quality pair of sunglasses which I’m sure will serve me well for quite a long time.”

You can always pop these on if all the flashing of the Christmas tree lights becomes a bit too much!
