Christmas Review 2017: Highclere Castle’s ‘The Gardener’ Hamper

We’ve all seen the popular ITV drama Downton Abbey so when Highclere Castle (where it was filmed!) asked us to review its beautiful gardening hamper we simply jumped at the chance. We were kindly sent this to review, here’s what Elaine thought:

Highclere Castle Gardeners

Elaine from our team was a huge Downton Abbey fan and absolutely loved Highclere Castle as it looked stunning so when we were sent a gardening hamper she knew it would get the nod of approval from Carson himself!

“When I first saw it was from Highclere Castle I instantly thought of Downton Abbey as this was where the show was filmed. The hamper itself came in a beautiful green garden pot which held all the contents safely inside plus the pot was even ‘frost-free’ so no need to worry about leaving this outside in the winter.

As soon as I took of the cellophane I could smell the included Gardeners soap, its was such a lovely scent and was really great to use, not too hard on my hands and perfect after a hard days work in the garden.  Next up was a pack of Wild Flower seeds, which according the the box were harvested from Highclere Castle’s very own Wild Flower Meadow, I could put these in the garden and wait from them to grow!

Hightclere Castle Items

The beautiful Highclere Castle Gardener’s Notebook included was ideal, I could write down all of my notes such as when I planted the flowers in my garden, names of flowers and of course ones I still wanted.  The notebook was made of heavy card blank paper and had a outstanding picture of Highclere Castle on the front.

Alongside all of these was a beautiful Wild Flower scented candle which came in a black box with a print of the castle on the front. When burning this candle the perfume was lovely but it was not over-powering – perfect for a relaxing after all the pruning.   The gardeners gloves clip was a blessing as I didn’t have to worry about where to put my gloves and the lovely ‘Shed’ key-ring which I put onto my keys for my ‘locked’ greenhouse.

Overall I was really impressed with the hamper from Highclere Castle and all of the items included, this would be the perfect gift for any keen gardener at Christmas”

The Gardener Hamper costs around £50.00 and can be bought directly from Highclere Castle here.

We would definitely get this for any keen gardener!
