Disney’s “The Stepdad” Christmas advert has landed

Get ready for heartstrings to be pulled as Disney releases its 2021 Christmas advert and spoiler alert! it’s a proper tear-jerker.

Christmas has truly landed, as Disney releases a heartwarming Christmas advert for 2021 and it might even rival emotional adverts from John Lewis.

Disney‘s latest animated short film, which last’s 3-minutes and has the dulcet tones of non-other than two-time Grammy Award-winning jazz musician Gregory Porter, follows a family’s journey as they navigate their first Christmas together.

Last year, TV viewers were introduced to Lola, whose granddaughter repairs the treasured Mickey Mouse toy that she was given by her father as a child.

This years advert, follows a grown-up Nicole, the granddaughter from ‘Lola’, and her two children Max and Ella, as new step-dad Mike and his dog move into their family home.

In one scene, he watches their mum read from a special Disney book, which sees Mickey and Minnie Mouse come to life as they ice skate around the room.

The advert continues by showing Mike making many festive memories with the children, such as building a snowman and introducing Max and Ella to his family via zoom.

“The Stepdad” Christmas advert is part of the magical Christmas Campaign ‘From Our Family to Yours’ in Support of Make-A-Wish® from Disney.

The creation of the advert also enabled Make-A-Wish UK to grant a very special wish for 13-year-old Dylan, whose wish was to be an animator
