Actors have been seen filming in Northumberland town, as Michelle Dockery, who plays Lady Mary was seen walking with her on-screen brother-in-law Tom Branson, in what appears to be a serious moment.
To avoid any spoilers getting out, staff were seen holding up large umbrellas to stop passers-by sneaking a look at the set.
Main characters Huge Bonneville and Elizabeth McGovern, who play husband and wide Robert Crawley and Cora Crawley were also seen leaving alongside extras who were all in costume.
Fans of the show know that this is the final episode on Downton Abbey however there are rumours of a film being made but writer Julian Fellowes has stated he had “mixed feelings” about the project.
