It’s reoccurring! Gavin and Stacey is finally coming back!

James Cordon confirmed on Twitter that the much-loved UK sitcom – Gavin & Stacey would be reuniting for a one-off special this Christmas on BBC. He said:

Last seen on our screens nine years ago, details have been kept under-wrap – though we do know that cast favourites Rob Brydon, Melanie Walters, Larry Lamb and Alison Steadman will be back and joining in all the festivities once more.
Ruth Jones and James Corden, says: âOver the last ten years weâve talked a lot about Gavin and Stacey – where they might be today and what their lives might look like. And so in secret we took the plunge and wrote this one hour special. Weâve loved revisiting Barry and Essex again and bringing the characters back together has been a joy. Weâre so excited to get the chance to work with our fabulous cast and crew once more and to give fans of the show a festive treat this Christmas. Thank you BBC for helping to make this happen.â

The show, which was last seen on our TV’s on New Yearâs Day in 2010, brought the end of a three-series run (and a Christmas special) as one of the BBCâs most loved sitcoms with 10.25 million viewers.
Fans, including ourselves, have been asking Santa for years for another special and this time it looks as though Smithy and Nessa have been on his nice list as it is happening!
This Gavin & Stacey special (1×60â) is a Fulwell 73, Tidy Productions and Baby Cow Production for BBC One. When new details are released we’ll be sure to keep you updated, however it is likely to air Christmas day after 9pm.
