Jack Hunter – The French Connection is the second book from author Martin King, in the Jack Hunter series of children’s stories and the first interactive children’s book to introduce augmented reality (AR) elements.
Follow the story of twelve year old Jack Hunter, who along with his friends Martin, Holly, BT and Jules prepares to head off to France on his first trip abroad with friends.
As this action story unfolds readers have the opportunity, with the help of both an app and smartphone, to unlock a portal where they can access games and interactive stories, however, the book does stand alone as a very readable novel.
Kids are going to love unlocking the secret cipher which they will find featured throughout the book. By unlocking the cipher they can help Jack to find a secret door to discover what lies beyond.
With crooks, cops, booby traps and dangerous villains, kids (and probably quite a few adults!) will find it hard to put this exciting adventure book down, as the story continues to unfold through the back streets of France.
I have to admit, that although this book has been written with children in mind, suitable for age 8 and over, I certainly enjoyed reading Martin King’s novel – Jack Hunter the French Connection as it was full of twists, turns and adventure. Having to unlocking secret cipher and use the app to access higher levels of the game took the story to a whole new and exciting level and leaves the reader desperate for more, I know I will certainly be in the que to get a copy of Martin’s latest book when it is released and see what will happen next in the Jack Hunter story!
More than just a great read the inclusion of the app help brings the story to life and by unlocking the 3D adventure game the action just leaps off the pages – will you help Jack solve the riddle of ….The French Connection?
