Recipe: Hot Chocolate With A Twist!

Hot chocolate is one of our favourite things to drink over the festive season and so when we read about this at home recipe for Hot Chocolate with a twist, we just had to share it with you!

This recipe is to make hot chocolate with either a hint of Terrys chocolate orange or with Toblerone.

for the chocolate milk base
200ml semi-skimmed milk
4g (1 heaped tsp) cocoa powder
20g of your chosen chocolate, melted (Terry’s Chocolate Orange Milk/Dark Or Toblerone Milk or Dark)

To make the base, whisk the cold milk and cocoa powder until smooth. Heat on the hob until simmering point, and then remove from the heat and add the chocolate. Stir until smooth.

If you have access to a blow torch, you may want to gently toast the marshmallow.

Pour the shot of Cointreau/Frangelico (if required) followed by the hot chocolate in to a tall latte glass. Top with a small swirl of whipped cream, starting from the rim of the glass and working inwards.

Finish with your selected toppings and the toasted marshmallow.

To finish the whole Hot Chocolate, simply add in your choice of chocolate (either terrys choc orange or toblerone) with whipped cream, Cointreau (if desired) and either some popping candy to top off or some honeycomb pieces mashed into small pieces.

Ahh, we can taste it already!
