We were kindly sent a Sodastream Power to try out and so we were only too happy to put it to the test.

The sodastream power is available in both Black and White designs. We were sent the black one which is sleek and modern at the same time as fitting into the kitchen perfectly. We were actually surprised by how slimline this is. We half expected it to be the size of a water tank but nope, this is slimline and takes up less room on our counter than our toaster. Don’t be fooled by it’s size, it’s still pretty heavy at 3.4KG’s!

This needs electricity, so keeping it near a power point is recommended.

Katy was probably the most excited person in the office to try this out so we sent her off to try it out and find out just how simple it was to use. Katy said:

“Setting this up was pretty easy. I just clipped the back off the machine to find the water bottle and placed the soda stream 60L gas cylinder into the area. Once this was done, the instructions said to simply fill the carbonated water bottle with regular tap water before placing it back into the machine until I heard the snap lock. That all went perfectly. Normally, I would expect to need to fiddle around for a few seconds before getting it in the right position but this clicked in place pretty easily.

The next step was choosing between the three settings. I chose the second one and pressed the LED button which flashed whilst it was carbonating. The Sodastream makes a loud buzzing noise while it’s working and the light will stop flashing once it is complete. There are three different options to choose from depending on how much fizz you would like in your drink, the first one gave a slight sparkle, the second one slightly more and the third one really quite sparkling.

We were sent a few flavours to go with the sodastream, so I placed one of the caps on (Blackberry Lime) and gently shook the bottle before pouring it into a glass filled with ice. It tasted really nice and refreshing. It took literally seconds to make and I was really impressed with it. Makes a healthier, tastier alternative to fizzy juice!”

Overall we thought that the Sodastream Power was a brilliant way to make sparkling drinks but keeps them healthy at the same time and the Sodasteam did not take up much room at all and is a great addition to any kitchen. There are lots of different flavours to choosen from such as Diet Cola, Lemonade, Pineapple and many more so there’s a flavour out there to suit everyone.

So, there’s Katy’s thoughts on the Sodastream power. Sodastream Power is available from Amazon.
