‘All I Want for Christmas’ and ‘12 Days of Christmas’ are amoungst the top Christmas songs we most commonly mis-sing according to leading retirement community developer McCarthy & Stone.

‘12 Days of Christmas’
Misquoted lyric: “On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me, four colly birds”
Correct lyric: “On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me, four calling birds”

‘All I Want for Christmas’
Misquoted lyric: “Take back the Harley and mistletoe”
Correct lyric: “Take back the holly and mistletoe”

‘Frosty the Snowman’

Their research also found that singing releases ‘feel good’ hormones like endorphins, and Sandra Colston, musical director of Funky Voices advised, that the choice of music has a big part to play in this. She suggested that music should “invoke memories, touch your emotions, make you tap your foot or make the hairs on your arms stand up”.
