My Kingdom Books Brings Books To Real Life With Augmented Reality

My Kingdom Books take bedtime stories to a whole new level with its first ever augmented reality book for children and we were kindly sent one of these books, here’s what we thought:

Before we received the personalised book we were asked if we would like it for either a prince or a princess and whatever chosen name we would like the book to say. We chose a prince and had his name personalised through-out the book.

When we received this through the post (which was very quick) we couldn’t help buy notice how beautiful and elegent the front cover was as it was purple with silver detail over it. Opening the book and going through the pages had our chosen name through it to give it a real personalised feeling and all of the pages illustrations were done to an extremely high quality. After taking a look through the book we headed on over the iTunes and downloaded the My Kingdom Books app (you can use any iOS or Android device for this) and after the download was complete held it over the right hand side of each page and instantly it was brought to life! We’ve taken a few pictures of the book in action:

We could not believe that each of the images were brought to life in 3D and popped out of the book like the characters were actualy walking along the book and they were very high quality and we could see every detail clearly. There was a witch, a balloon and on some of the pages it began to spell out the name our chosen character which was ‘Lewis’ and by the end of the book it has spelt out his full name and each of the characters in the book were based on the letters of our chosen name! The book is a really fun and interesting way to get kids excited about reading and this being the first augmented reality book gives this an edge over other standard books! You can buy this book at my Kingdom Books for £19 with free postage and packaging globally.

My Kingdom Books also donates at least 10% of its profits to the charity Dreams and Wishes which helps seriously ill children which you can donate to here.

Overall we thought the My Kingdom Books was a brilliant way to get children excited about reading and using their imaginations!
