We consume 1.5 Tonnes of Christmas Chocolates?

Yes, it’s true, we do in fact eat our way through ‘tonnes’ of Christmas Chocolates. According to a recent study conducted by OnePoll.com, the average Brit munches their way through 1.5 tonnes of chocolate in their lifetimes, amounting to £12,000! We might even eat more than the average… #NoShame

Ah, Christmas! a time when over indulging on chocolates and sweet treats is practically unavoidable.  You’ve probably received a box of chocolates as a gift, helped yourself to that dedicant slice of cake and scoffed the selection boxes whilst wrapping presents but according to new research we’re eating even more than probably first expected… According to a poll conducted by OnePoll.com, we spend an average of £12k on Chocolate in our lifetimes, consuming more than 1.5 tonnes of the cocoa delight. Obviously, our favourite chocolates to eat are from Christmas tins (The Quality Street Pink Fudge is always amongst the first to go!), but according to the survey, there are some surprising front runners in the chocolate favourites.

The top 30 Chocolate filled foods are: Cadbury Dairy Milk Snickers Bounty Flake Twirl Mars Bar Twix Kit Kat Chunky Kit Kat Crunchie Galaxy Ripple Aero Mint Toblerone Wispa Cadbury’s Fruit and Nut Double Decker Lindor Cadbury Fudge Cadbury Caramel Aero Yorkie Milkybar Galaxy Caramel Picnic Fry’s Turkish Delight Toffee Crisp Rolo MilkyWay Boost Munchies

The survey also revealed that 12% of us admitted to pinching chocolate from our colleagues. We know who the guilty culprits are here at UTCT HQ. Just remember Santa Claus ‘See’s you when you’re sleeping, he knows when you’re awake. He knows if you’re stealing your colleagues chocolates so be good for goodness sake’.

If we cut back the rest of the year can we legitimately eat chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner at Christmas, we think so!
