ITV to show Downton Abbey Christmas special

ITV will be showing a re-run of Downton Abbey Christmas special from Series 6, episode 9 on Sunday 16th August at 9.00pm.

The episode sees Mary trying to build bridges but Edith’s secret poses a threat. Henry settles into the role of a husband with scars left by Cgarli’e death are slow to heal. Carson struggles to come to terms with developments and Spratt’s successful moonlighting venture is threatened by the conning of Denker and Daisy may have missed her chance with an admirer.

The last ever episode offers the love and loss, happiness and heartbreak of Downton Abbey, as the family and servants prepare to welcome 1926 with an unforgettable New Year’s Eve together at the great house.

ITV is not the first to air previous Christmas episodes as BBC aired Max & Stacey’s affair reveal and Mick finding out Shirley is his mum and not his sister.
