Celebrate Each Festive Day With The Best Of British Beer Advent Calendar

Christmas is the season of good spirits and on this occasion it’s also the season of good beer thanks to the Best Of British Beer Advent Calendar.

We were lucky enough to be sent this advent calendar to try out – purely for review purposes of course and we thought we would tell you all about it.

Firstly, the thought of a non-chocolate advent calendar scares some of us a little bit. We are more than happy to have our 8am sugar fix, but the alternative of an alcoholic advent calendar was appealing to say the least…

Let’s talk about the size of this. It’s huge. If you’re expecting to be able to sit this on your shelf and admire it then you’re in for a shock. It stands at 69cm high (not including the star!) and contains 25 FULL SIZE bottles of beer for the countdown to Christmas.

The Advent calendar itself looks like a Christmas tree and is numbered up to 25 as most advent calendars are. Each day, you will be greeted with a different beer which will help you to celebrate in the run up to Christmas.

Whilst we’re certainly not recommending you indulge in a festive tipple at 8am each day, we would say we enjoyed placing our beer in the fridge for either the evening or weekends. Having so much variety made it exciting to open each day and for over 18’s, we reckon this is the perfect alternative to the standard Christmas advent calendar.

UTCT’s John has been saving some of his beers to indulge in over the festive season but with the few he tried out, he had this to say:

“Ahh! I love my job! Not only is Christmas my favourite time of year, but beer is one of my favourite tipples. This is huge and it’s pretty heavy so be sure to allocate a place in your home where this can stay over the 25 days. It might not be December but purely for review purposes, I was happy to give this a try!

I opened door number one and pulled out my beer (I won’t tell you which one, as I’d hate to ruin the surprise!) The beer was full size (330ml) and I placed it in my fridge to indulge in later on.

Come Friday, work was finished for the day and I was all too happy to open my first bottle. I had opened five doors by this point and was surprised to see that each beer was different. I thought I might get a few different flavours, but was happy to see they were all different. I opted for one at random and enjoyed it as I watched the Polar Express on DVD. Yes, Really.

This is the perfect Christmas gift for the beer lover in your life and is the perfect alternative to the usual chocolate advent calendars. I hope they release this in 2017 as I already want to pre-order”

John loved it, we love it and we’re sure you will too.  For more information on the Best Of British Beer Advent Calendar. Click here.
