We always find men so hard to buy for (and we are sure Santa feels the same way!) which is why when the Philips Series 5000 Showerproof Body Groomer was sent to us for review, we were excited to put it through it’s paces.

The set comes with the shaver itself, and a back attachment for extra reach. The razor simply slots inside the extender and it’s ready to use.
John said: “Whilst I can’t speak for women, I think it’s fair to say that most men get a little bit of unwanted hair on our back – myself included! When I was asked to try out the Philips Smooth full Body shave series 5000, I didn’t know whether to be grateful or offended, but off I went on my merry way to test it out once I’d got home.
I was a bit worried that this would be complicated to set up, but actually it comes in two parts – the shaver and the back attachment. I easily clipped the shaver into the back attachment and was ready to go once I had charged this up.
The bodygroom comes with three comb attachments – 3mm, 5mm & 7mm. If you want a closer shave then you needn’t use any of the combs (which is what I opted for).
Being electrical, my first thought was whether or not this is shower safe and after reading the box & instructions it clearly mentions that this is 100% showerproof which is a relief (it means I can use it wet and dry!) Being honest, I did wonder if this would fall out of its holder when being used upside down but actually, it is very secure and didn’t fall out (or rattle) at all. It was very simple to use (If I can do it, anyone can!).
I simply raised my arm up and dragged this up and down my back. Once I was sure I was done, I jumped out of the shower and checked to see I had gotten everywhere I wanted to. I had missed a couple of bits but I just used the Body groom again whilst looking in the mirror to fix this. I didn’t notice any ‘pulling’ or razor burn whatsoever which is great.
I actually told my wife about this and she pointed out that some women might struggle to bend making this a great option for women (or men) looking to remove unwanted leg hair too. All in all I’m pretty impressed by this and would recommend it.”
