Below are the results of our festive cheese taste test 2022.

WINNER 10/10 – Asda Extra Special Queso de Oveja con Ajo Negro, serves 5, £4 – BUY HERE

Christmas Taste Test 2022 Cheese - Asda Extra Special Queso de Oveja con Ajo Negro - Winner

The first-place winner of our cheese category goes to this beauty from Asda Extra Special cheese collection, we felt not only did it look super impressive with the black garlic veins running through the whole cheese but it tasted spectacular. It had a sweet and fruity taste but the black garlic gave a good strong flavour too, a very soft and dense texture this clung to our palate nicely. If you’re looking for the cheeseboard show stopper make sure this is on your shopping list this Christmas.

SECOND PLACE – Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses – Blacksticks Blue, £4 – BUY HERE

Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses - Blacksticks Blue, £4

If you’re not a fan of blue cheese then give this a go! as it’s not too strong to blow your head off but still has that blue bite when eating. We loved its creamy texture which was easy to spread and it certainly would stand out from the crowd on a cheeseboard.

THIRD PLACE – Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses – Sunday Best Lancashire Cheese, £6 – BUY HERE

Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses - Sunday Best Lancashire Cheese, £6

This really was one of our favourites when it comes to a good, strong staple cheese. It had a wonderful texture and melted in the mouth and to be perfectly honest left us wanting more! If you’re looking for the all-rounder pick this.

Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses – Button Mill, £5 – BUY HERE

Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses - Button Mill, £5

If we were to round this up in three words, they would be, delicate, smooth and creamy! Button Mill had a good ultra-soft texture and a vibrant flavour and if you ask us would be lovely warmed with crusty bread.
