Town Team Chairman Jonathan Lister said:
“Right now we are really focused on the preparations for the annual Christmas fair.
“Last year was a great success, it is a positive event for the High Street and the retailers, as it brings out a considerable amount of people, not only locally but also from a wider area.
“We will have a lot going on on the day, not only on the High Street but around the town, so it is a big undertaking.
“The Town Team is a completely voluntary group, no-one is being paid for their time, so we really do rely very heavily on people from across the community to come together and help to provide this event for the community.
“We work in tandem with other organisations in Halstead like the town council, who are responsible for the turning on of the Christmas lights, which is usually about a week later. The more support we can get, the better we can make the event, likewise the support of the retailers is paramount. It is quite strange for people to be thinking about Christmas now, but with the amount of preparation needed, the Town Team have to work quite a way in advance to achieve everything we want to with this event.”
