How Will You Celebrate Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is a special day that is celebrated every year on the fourth Sunday in Lent which this year will be on the 11th March, 2018.

This is traditionally the day that we show our appreciation of our mothers by giving them gifts.  Mother’s Day, which began in Britain around 400 years ago, was typically the day that those who worked away from home were given a day off to visit their ‘mother church’ (the church where they were christened) and would bring small gifts for the celebration.

Although we rarely give handmade gifts today, (apart from the elves at the North Pole who still make special gifts for Mrs Claus) most people still make an effort to spend time with their mum on this special day.
