All Creatures Great And Small to return to TV with a Christmas special

Fans of All Creatures Great and Small’s iconic stories will be delighted to hear that it has been commissioned for six, one hour episodes plus a Christmas special.

All Creatures Great and Small is the latest drama commission announced for Channel 5 and will shoot on location in Yorkshire later this year.  The series which will be set in the 1930s will chronicle the touching and often hilarious adventures of Yorkshire Dales young country vet, James Herriot, played by well known actor Christopher Timothy.

This factual series, which will be shot on location in Yorkshire ahead of the original publication’s 50th anniversary in 2020, will introduce fans to the farmers and townsfolk who both worked and lived in the Yorkshire Dales in the 1930’s and there will be Christmas edition of the show.

This new adaptation will keep the values of Herriot’s iconic characters alive and bring amazingly funny tales of country life in the North of England to a new generation of his life affirming stories.

Will this new version of All Creatures Great and Small have all the wit and wisdom of the original TV series?
