The Hexbug Ring Racer is the remote-controlled, self-stabilizing robot that spins, tumbles and flips over 360 degrees. We were kindly sent this to review, here’s what Elaine thought.
Elaine said: “I’ve seen quite a few of the Hexbug robots and I was always impressed by the way they worked so I was really keen to give Ring Racer a try. I took this out of the box and I put this on charge using the included usb for around 1 hour as per the instructions.

After that I pressed the ON button on the Hexbug and then it had a red light. At this point I selected my channel then pressed the button on the controller and on the Hexbug itself which allowed the Hexbug and the remote to connect together and it was ready to start doing stunts with.
I used the remote control which is really quite small in size and began to press the arrow/buttons on the controller. Instantly the Hexbug began to perform tricks including rolling forward, doing tumbles and then one of my favourite tricks, the 360 flip, it was amazing, the Hexbug span around in circles! I did loads of different stunts and tricks with this and I can’t wait to play against other players and learning even more tricks that this Hexbug can do. When I was finished I simply pressed the ON button on the Hexbug which turned this off.
Overall I thought the Hexbug Ring Racer was so easy to set up and was very impressive with all of the stunts this self-stabilizing robot can do!”
