At £79.99 the Toucan Wireless Outdoor Camera brings high-quality security without the huge price tag! Here we put it to the test to find out just how good this really is.

“With restrictions lifting and Christmas just around the corner, I’m very conscious that I’ve got practically no outdoor security for my home, especially knowing deliveries are being left outside for opportunists to take advantage and steal or worse break into my property, so when TOUCAN Wireless Outdoor Camera arrived here at UTCT HQ, I couldn’t wait to snatch up and install.
Firstly, I’ll list down the key features the TOUCAN Wireless Outdoor Camera has to offer:

Now that the spec has been covered, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of it, is it easy to instal, are the nighttime pictures good quality and really no wires at all?
Let’s put it to the test, on opening the colourful box, which states everything you need to know about the wireless security camera on the front, the camera is nestled neatly in its slot. On top is a few leaflets (warranty, set up etc), you’ll receive the camera, magnetic base mount, wall anchors, screws, adhesive tape and charging cable.
Firstly I gave it a full charge as that’s what’s recommended, and took about 3 hours until the solid blue light came on.
Next was set up, which was a breeze, I downloaded the Toucan app to my smartphone, paired the Toucan camera with my Wi-Fi (using 2.4Ghz connection), press and held the SET button until the LED light blinks to enter the setup mode, finally, I followed the camera voice and navigated my way through to completion.
Once done, it was now time to install the TOUCAN outdoor wireless camera (which is also waterproof!) , I’ve got to say having no wires to fuss around and look horrible on my wall was a huge bonus to me, I screwed in the nail, applied the 3M adhesive to my wall (allowed the 24-48 hours drying time as recommended) placed the camera into the magnetic base and I was ready to go.
The picture quality was fantastic, and I was even more impressed at night as it was super sharp and detailed. If you’re not watching live, the camera will send instant alerts to your smart device flagging any suspicious movement, but don’t worry it doesn’t pick up your neighbour cat – great as I live in the country and would be getting notifications every 5 minutes.
Although I’ve not had to use this feature, I really do feel safe knowing that at the touch of a button you can call the emergency services.
And, finally, when it needed to be charged again, it was a cinch to take down!, Overall for just £79.99 I now feel much safer in my home and when away knowing I can see exactly who is accessing my property and I’m now off to buy my grandparent one who is currently paying over £35 month for her security which doesn’t have half the benefit of the TOUCAN Wireless Outdoor Camera.”
