With new research showing one in nine consumers being interested in trying insect-based snacks could these be this years favourite Canapés?….

Firm favourites such as Smoked salmon have also been spruced up as more unusual options come to the table including cuts infused with gin and tonic! Newer world cuisines have also played a part in the online supermarket Xmas line-up as it launches Christmas spiced Chocolate Houmous.

Move aside your traditional turkey centrepiece and make room for Tofurkey Turkey Roll, Vegetarian Nut Roast and even Christmas Butternut Squash Stuffed with Luxurious Vegan Mince as Ocado predicts more and more of us will be going meat-free on the big day.

Alcohol-infused desserts and even cheeses are a clear trend this Christmas and Ocado think so too! with a 71 per cent increase in sales for infused food products it’s no wonder the online supermarket are releasing Gin & Tonic Meringue Bites and Snowdonia Mature Cheddar laced with Whisky.

With Insect canapes, gin salmon and meat-free turkey roll all topping Ocado’s trends it has truly said goodbye to the past and leaped merrily into the future.
