Dominic Treadwell-Collins To Quit Eastenders

It’s only a matter of a few weeks since we all sat down to watch our favourite soap’s Christmas Day episode and already Dominic Treadwell-Collins has announced that plans for 2016’s Eastenders Christmas episodes are already in place.

Explaining the surprisingly early planning he said:

‘You want to know exactly where you are going so you can build up to the big moments in the year.’

A mere 2 days after releasing this Eastenders teaser, Dominic announced his intention to leave the soap, but not until he oversees the return of Grant Mitchell and Peggy’s funeral which will air in May.

Taking over the reigns is Sean O’Connor, currently Editor of The Archers, the world’s longest running soap which in January 2016 celebrated its 65th anniversary.

Dominic Treadwell-Collins took Eastenders to new heights, who else could have kept the secret of ‘Who Killed Lucy’ under wraps for nearly a year? We can only hope that Sean O’Connor will continue his great work.
