Waitrose has unveiled a twist to our oh-so-traditional mince pies which is sure to divide the nation, introducing the new CHOCOLATE ginger-spiced mince pie.
Launching in stores this Christmas, the festive treat will combine the perfect ingredients to make an all butter, crumbly mince pie. The difference? this year’s will also have decadent chocolate pastry and inside each pie is a mincemeat made with crystallised ginger with a hint of citrus orange oil to give a seasonal, festive warming flavour.
Best served with a hot chocolate, Rachel Aldridge, Waitrose Bakery Buyer, comments; “Best served warm to release the aroma of chocolate and that distinctive festive smell of mincemeat, they are perfect paired with a cup of hot chocolate or mulled wine.”

This year, the online groceries store will put twists on classics which were made famous in the 70s including a Waitrose Black Forest Sparkle Bar and Heston’s Black Forest Panettone.
