‘Tis the season for cheesy jokes as comedy TV channel, Gold has announced its annual ‘Christmas cracker’ joke competition has returned for its sixth year.
What is Christmas if it doesn’t involve a silly little joke from a cracker?
Covering all the ups and downs of 2018, the British public can submit what they think are this years best Christmas cracker gags – no matter how cheesy they might be!
Last’ year’s winning joke, as you would expect was a political pun, “Why was Theresa May sacked as Nativity Manager? She couldn’t run a stable government.”, with 2016’s top spot being taken by “How will Christmas dinner be different after Brexit? No Brussels”.
But what about 2018? From Teresa May’s dancing queen and Love Island to Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump, there’s plenty of events to put a creative twist on.
With a whopping 300 million crackers being pulled on Christmas day, could yours contain your very own joke inside? The competition is open until 11.59pm on Sunday 28th October 2018, and can be entered by tweeting new, original and funny Christmas jokes with the hashtag #GoldCrackers.
The winner will receive £1,500 holiday vouchers, a festive themed hamper, as well as having their joke included in their own personalised set of crackers ready to pull on the big day.
