Iceland launch ‘The Christmas ad that isn’t a Christmas ad’

If you thought Christmas adverts couldn’t get any more… extravagant then think again as Iceland reveals its official not-Christmas, Christmas advert and it has a clear message for the nation; #NOTYETNODDY.

The 2022 advert begins with us seeing an eccentrically dressed Noddy Holder in a festively lit room, preparing for the moment we’ve all been counting down for. Noddy proceeds to sing looking pretty chuffed with himself until the instantly recognisable voice of Brian Blessed interrupts him at ‘It’s Christmaaaa…’.

Blaring ‘No, no, no! Not yet Noddy! Don’t you know the football’s on’. The ad goes on to show us festive aIceland’s food offerings for this year.

Caspar Nelson, Marketing Director of Iceland Foods said: “We’ve taken the unusual step of silencing the Christmas legend. With the World Cup kicking off on Sunday we need the nation to be putting their energy into supporting the England and Wales football teams.”

Well we’ve got to say it’s certainly a unique festive-ish advert and we don’t know how well it’ll go down with non-football fans but if it gets the nations cheering for England and Wales in the world cup then great!
