We were kindly sent the gorgeous Johnson and White Aromas Limited Edition Aspen 2 Wick Christmas candle to test here’s exactly what we thought.
As the clocks go back and the night grows darker, nothing is more warming than sitting by the fire with a delicious Christmas candle flickering away and we’ve got to be super honest, we adored Johnson & White’s Aspen fragrance.
Arriving in a stunning (and very Christmassy) red box with the Johnson & White logo embellished on the front, we couldn’t wait to pull the black fabric tag up to see the candle inside.
Now, unlike some other candles, Johnson & White Aromas have gone all out with its safety packaging to ensure your candle isn’t damaged in transport, no need to worry for any glass breakage – phew! as your candle is encased top to bottom with soft grey foam, they’ve even placed a piece on top of the actual wick.
Pulling out the candle, you can see it has a sort of scoop, boat shape, perfect for no-wax leakage, and the glass casing is a very deep (even burgundy) red colour, bang on trend for Christmas, it also has ridged glass design.
Before lighting the candle we followed the handy candle etiquette card and trimmed the wick to approx 5mm and lighted. Our office instantly filled with notes of sweet orange and spices of cinnamon and ginger, it gave a gentle reminder that Christmas really is on its way.
We felt the candle captured all the notes of the festive season and had a good strong smell which lasted throughout the day. As per the instructions, once the whole surface of the candle has turned to liquid we blew gentle out after an hour.
What makes the Aspen candle even more special is that the whole Johnson & White Armour candles are hand-poured in the UK using traditional artisan techniques of hand-pouring and blending the wax and fragrance to ensure unrivalled quality for the best and most unique luxury scented candle.
