It might only be the beginning of February, but brands are already showcasing their latest toy releases at the 2016 Toy Fair.
This year, we expected to see some familiar faces – Lego, Scalextric, playmobil and gadgets but actually, surprisingly one of the biggest attractions was actually the simplest toy technology wise.
It seems that kids are set to go back to basics this 2016 as old toys make a fresh faced re-appearance.
The Toy Fair saw the return of Stretch Armstrong! The main man himself was originally released in the 1970’s and was re-released in the 1990’s. Now, he’s making a return in 2016 and he’s still sporting those 1970’s swimming trunks…
Set to hit our shelves in summer of 2016, Stretch Armstrong also won the ‘Best New Toy’ Award at the toy awards, setting tongues wagging that this could be an affordable firm favourite for the year ahead.
In case you’re not familiar with Stretch Armstrong, he is rubbery and can be stretched to four times his body length and can be tied up in knots without loosing it’s shape. A stretchy, non messy toy? sounds ideal to us!
Also showcased at the Toy Fair was the first underwater drone, Teletubbies, Danger Mouse and of course more lego than you can fit under a Christmas tree.
