How many times have we all headed into town only to find that the all important, Hatchimals Pengualas Egg or the Lego Boost have already sold out?  The Toys ‘R’ Us’ Time to Pay programme, which was launched back in 2015, gives savvy shoppers not just  the advantage of spreading the cost of Christmas over 12 weeks but also helps families get the all important children’s gift list shopping done early before it sells out.

As Christmas grows closer so the price of top Christmas toys seem to increase, however by joining (fee just £5) the Time to Pay programme, Toys ‘R’ Us will honour any change in prices of gifts from initial shop to collection.

Once you’ve joined the programme you can reserve your Christmas presents with just a 20% deposit and with different payment schemes available, customers can pay off their items and pick them up within seven days at any time, without penalty.  Should you need to cancel your purchases then you will receive a full refund minus a £10 cancellation fee.

Mike Coogan, Toys “R” Us Marketing & eCommerce Director said “Take Time to Pay is a great programme and our customers have showed us they love it.  As well as allowing families to spread the cost of what can be a very expensive time of year, we are amused at the fact that parents find it a great way to hide away Christmas from kids who go hunting in every cupboard before the big day! It’s a win-win service that we are very proud of”.

Update regarding Toys R Us: Following the announcement that Toys R Us will be filing for bankruptcy in the US and Canada we can confirm that this will NOT affect the UK including the ‘Time to Pay’ program, so please do continue to shopping with confidence.

Dave Brandon Chairman and Chief Executive Office has released this statement:

“We are confident that we are taking the right steps to ensure that the iconic Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us brands live on for many generations,” said Dave Brandon, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Our customers around the world can continue to count on an outstanding shopping experience and excellent service whenever, wherever and however they choose to shop with us. As the holiday season approaches, our global team members are ready to serve the millions of kids and families who will be shopping with us.”
