About The Prize

This heart-warming novel by Katie King will tug at your heart strings. Set during World War Two the story is of twins, Connie and Jessie, who are to be evacuated from London to Harrowgate and are stationed at a vicarage. Parents Barbara and Ted are comforted knowing Peggy (Barbara’s eldest sister who is pregnant) will also be going with them.

The twins get into many adventures and troubles with the help of fellow pupil Tommy, but as Winter sets in, Connie who usually doesn’t show her feelings, starts to wish the war would end and they would be be home for Christmas but this Christmas Eve there will be a surprise arrival.
