The ad, which lasts over 2 minutes long brings to life the magical story of Buster the boxer and his loving family. As the advert begins, you can hear the start of the song ‘One Day I’ll Fly Away’, recorded by the British band Vaults, as little girl, Bridget is being put to bed by her mum. Unknown to Bridget, who loves to bounce, her Dad is out in the garden building up a trampoline to surprise her on Christmas day. As the magical night draws in only observed by Buster, a cast of wildlife animals emerges – two foxes, a badger, a squirrel, and a hedgehog – who discover the trampoline and have fun jumping. As Christmas morning arrives, Bridget runs to her surprise gift only to be out ran by Buster who has waited patiently all night to have a bounce, just like his wildlife friends!
A magical story which brings together some of Britain’s most loved wildlife to life, John Lewis has chosen The Wildlife Trusts to be this year’s Christmas campaign charity partner and will make a donation from the sale of soft toys of the characters which feature in the advert which you can buy from John Lewis website.
Craig Inglis, Customer Director at John Lewis said; “2016 has certainly been quite a year, so we hope our advert will make people smile. It really embraces a sense of fun and magic, reminding everyone what it feels to give the perfect gift at Christmas”
Commenting on the charity partnership, Stephanie Hilborne OBE, Chief Executive, The Wildlife Trusts said; “The Wildlife Trusts believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy of wildlife and wild places in their daily lives. So John Lewis putting some of our most beautiful British wild animals at the centre of their Christmas advert and making The Wildlife Trusts their charity of choice this Christmas is great news. With this support we will be able to inspire thousands more children about the wonders of the natural world.”
You’ll be able to watch the advert at around 9:15PM on ITV tonight plus if you want to see who it was all created, John Lewis has also partnered with Sky, for a ‘making of the ad’ film and bespoke content about British Wildlife, via the On Demand homepage and Sky Go.
Buster and his Wildlife friend certainly put a smile on our faces, all we can say is lets build up the trampoline and get bouncing!
