Its no surprise when the festive season comes around we want our homes to look their very best however with the rise of cleaning gurus like Mrs Hinch taking social media by storm, it seems more time than ever is being spent on cleaning.

According to a national survey by kitchen retailer, Magnet, one third of people spend 10 hours or more per week ensuring their home looks its best, basically what we spend one day decorating the living room for Christmas!

Certain objects have also made us feel prouder, the survey showed our TV’s and oven’s were most important, they certainly are for us – how else would we watch holiday movies and fit the Christmas dinner in?!

A Magnet spokesperson said: “People want a home they can not only see a haven they can relax and de-stress in, but also show off to friends and visitors as a marker of what they work hard for.”

The official list of spaces we are most proud if were:
Living room
Dining room
Study/ office
Utility room

When it comes to decorating for the festive season we do have to admit to spending much more time on the living room and garden!
