John said: “The minute I tasted this wine I could see why it had won an award, I could taste the white peach and citrus flavour such as a little lemon & lime and had a nice creamy finish to it. I would pair this with a seafood dish or party nibbles such as goat cheese tarts.”
Co-op Irresistible Leyda Valley Sauvignon Blanc 75cl – £7.50 BUY NOW
With fresh crisp characteristics including limes, gooseberries and a hint of sea salt.
Mandy said: “I do like a Sauvignon Blanc and this wine didn’t disappoint. It had the perfect balance of crispness that I would expect, I could taste hints of lime and lemon and it did have a nice finish, not too bitter. This would be great with cheese & biscuits or with a chicken dish.”

Rich blend of mainly Syrah and Grenache grapes with blackcurrant and cherry with warm spice finish.
Katy said: “When I first poured this wine, the colour was really rich and I could smell the warm spices such as cinnamon and hints of clove. This was all balanced out well with blackurrent and cherry which gave a contrast to the spices and I would have this with a winter casserole on a cold winter’s night”.
Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Pinot Noir 75cl – £9.50 BUY NOW
Smooth and silky with fresh cherry, layers of red fruit and spices.
Elaine said: “I did enjoy this Pinot Noir, it was nice, smooth and creamy. I could taste the red fruits such as raspberry and also hints of cherry throughout. This would make a great pairing with mushroom stroganoff and some fruit flavoured cheese such as cranberry.”
Bees Knees Chenin Blanc Viognier 2021, £10.99 BUY HERE
With tropical fruit, peach and lemon with notes of apple, white flower and honeysuckle. Mandy said: “I do enjoy a glass of white wine and don’t like wine that’s overly sweet. This Viohnier Chenin Blanc was the perfect balance of fresh and cripness throughout. I could tasty peach with the tropical fruits with the apple which gave such a lovely, refreshing taste but it didn’t have any sharpness to it and was nice and smooth. I would pair this with turkey, chicken or a vegetarian pasta.”

This pink fizz has fresh strawberries, raspberries and cherries to give the perfect glass of fizz. Elaine said: “I do enjoy a glass of procescco and was keen to give this Rose Prosecco a try. When I poured this into my glass I could instantly smell the strawberry and raspberry and to taste it was delicate and had a dry finish. This would be perfect with canapes or to serve as a welcoming drink to guests.”

Rich in colour, with plum, cherries and a hint vanilla.
Mandy said: “I do enjoy a Merlot, so I was keen to give this one a try and I was not disappointed. I could taste the cherries, vanilla and plum which all worked really well together and had a really nice smooth finish. Pair this with some gammon, vegan roast dinner or even a baked camembert.”
Premier Bain Beaujolais Rosé 2020, £10.49 BUY HERE
Packed full of flavour including cherry, raspberry, strawberry, lemon and white pepper. Katy said: “I never used to be a huge Rose fan, I found then too sweet and didn’t really find one that I enjoyed until I found this Premier Bain Beaujolais Rosé, it is absultely delicious and has changed my mind about Rose. I loved the strawberry, raspberry and cherry flavour, these always work well together and with the citrus gave a nice and light taste. I would pair this with a seafood dish or as an aperitif.”

With cherry, black cherry, raspberry and is rich & bold. Mandy said: “I enjoyed this Winemaster’s Lot Amarone from Aldi, it was easy to drink and I could taste the raspberry and cherry throughout with hints of cedar. It is a smooth, deep and rich red red wine with and has soft tannins which makes oh-so more-ish! I would service this red wine with a beef or a vegetarian wellington. It would also go lovely with biscuits and cheese.”

Elegant wine with shades of violet and flavours such as mocha and black cherries.
Katy said: “Red wine is my favourite wine and I really enjoyed this Pinot Noir, it had everything I would expect including hints of black cherry but this has had a nice, light oat taste to it which was not overpoweing. It was nice and smooth to drink and I would pair this with either a vegetarian bolognese or a salmon dish.

Perfectly balanced stone fruits with notes of strawberries and redcurrents for a crisp, delicate taste.
John said: “I don’t drink Rose wine that often but I have to admit that I think I might have to after trying this Tesco Finest wine. I could taste the strawberry and redcurrants which gave a crisp finish, I also liked the lightness as some dishes need a more delicate wine and I think this would be perfect with seafood such as seabass or a vegetarian pasta.”

Dark fruit flavours with vanilla, chocolate aromas, finished off with hints of black pepper.
Mandy said: “When I first poured this Malbec I noticed the nice dark violet colour this had and I could smell hints of vanilla. To taste there is plum and chocolate which gives a nice smooth finish and there was a hint of black pepper to finish but this was not overpowering and balanced out the chocolate and vanilla notes. This would be ideal with beef wellington and chocolate truffles for dessert.”

Tropical pineapple, peach and mango balanced with subtle smoky flavours. Elaine said: “When I first poured Pouilly-Fumé white wine into my glass I could smell the pineapple and mango which smelled delicious and the taste was as good as it smelled. I could taste the pineapple along with peach and mango which gave a really nice tasty and it did have a slight smoky flavour to it. I would pair this with a chicken pasta dish, cheese & biscuits or with a tasty cheesecake.”

Ripe raspberry, spiced plum and crushed black pepper aromas with smooth, silk layers. Katy said: “Red wine is my choice of wine, I love trying out new flavours and kinds and I have to say this Le Prince de Courthézon Côtes du Rhône was lovely. I could taste the raspberry and really enjoyed the spiced plum which gave a really nice after taste. It was not too heavy which some red wines can be and did put a nice warmth through on a cold night. I would pair this with a beef dish or with some after dinner chocolates.”

Mandy said: “When I first poured Côtes De Provence Rosé into my glass I could smell the cherry and strawberry flavours. To taste there was the familiar taste that I would expect from a Rosé wine but had hints of spices throughout which gave a really nice balance to the wine. This would go great with seafood or a fruit cocktail starter.”

Aromatic freshness with apricot, honeysuckle and notes of fresh grapefruit and mandarin.
Katy said: “This wine would be the perfect pairing with Turkey, Fish or a tasty vegan dish. I could taste the apricot and the honey-floral notes from the honeysuckle but the grapefruit and mandarian added honts out crispness which gave the perfect balance or sweet and sour.”

John said: “I do enjoy a sparkling wine, and I have to say Boco By House Coren was delicious. I loved the blend of the three different types of wine as each added a different element. I could taste pear, peach and hints of citrus throughout, it nice and light and had lovely, fine bubbles throughout. I would pair this with a seafood dish such as linguine with prawn or to have as a serving with canapes such as cheese, grapes and maybe some bruschetta.”

Award winning dessert wine with citrus, peach and apricot flavours.
John said: “I’ve tried a few dessert wines and I really enjoyed this one. This sweet wine has a lovely balance of citrus, peach and apricot which gives this a nice sweetness to it but also had a nice balance with the citrus. I would try this with cheeses such as Stilton or maybe even a pineapple roulade”.
