Aldi searching for most expressive pet for a Specialbuy Christmas product

That’s right, Aldi is on the search for the most hilariously expressive faces our pets pull, with its #ExpressiveAldiPets competition.

The competition announced by Aldi is encouraging its shoppers to share the weird and wonderful expressions their pets pull with the winner getting the chance to appear on a pack of a product this Christmas.

Aldi also confirmed that its current star ‘Earl’ is being replaced after 3 years of modelling for the business.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, comments: “We will soon be paving the way for a new four-legged friend to become the face of our pet food. We’d like to thank Earl for his outstanding contribution to the Aldi business over the last 3 years, in particular his efforts in the pet food category.

“We’re aware there have been comments from some shoppers that he has a tendency to look rather sad but we think he’s done a wonderful job. Despite the change of face, here at Aldi we appreciate and embrace all pet expressions – and to mark the occasion, we’re excited to launch this competition to find the best ‘expressionists’ across the UK, with the winner having a chance to become as famous as Earl!”

Earl’s replacement will be announced in the coming weeks, alongside a new pet food range. Owners across the UK should submit their most expressive pictures of their pets for a chance to win one of three pet hampers and one lucky winner the opportunity to appear on the packaging of a Specialbuy product this Christmas.

Submit your entries via Facebook and Twitter from 22nd February using the hashtag #ExpressiveAldiPets.

Aldi also recently released cast iron pastel pink Le Creuset dupe range and new hot chocolate mug melts.
