Here’s 2022’s best Christmas festive fizz, tried and tested by UnderTheChristmasTree and we’re now ready for the party season to begin!

No Christmas is complete without the sound of a POP as the festive fizz gets opened. So we’ve taste-tested this year’s best festive champagne and prosecco from the UK’s leading supermarkets. The first-place winner of our fizz category without a doubt goes to Tesco Finest Premier Cru Champagne. We felt this had a lovely fruity taste and a good depth to it, with rich-tasting notes of green apples and citrus flavours. Ticking every single box, this would be fizz we would pop on the big day.

SECOND PLACE – Co-Op Les Pionniers Non Vintage Champagne 75cl, £19.50 – BUY HERE

Charging in at second place in our taste test is the Co-op Les Pionniers Non Vintage Champagne, 75cl, and for just under £20 which we felt was amazing had a fresh, elegant and had a real apple flavour to it which gave a nice balance to every mouthful.

This sparkling red fruit Brut is one Rose lovers will fall head over heels for, it is packed with vibrant red berry fruits which you can definitely taste and leave our pallets feeling fresh We enjoyed this cava and its salmon pink colour made us instantly feel glamour.

Asda Extra Special 2013 Champagne Louis Bernard Vintage, £26 – BUY HERE

This delicate and fresh champagne had a lovely colour and we thought it was very elegant. With each sip, you could taste creamy notes of vanilla and biscuit and we felt it was very well balanced.

Codorniu Cuvee Barcelona 1872 Brut 75cl, £12 – BUY HERE

We felt this was an ideal sparkling wine to go with your party buffet! With apple and pear, citrus and notes of white flowers, this left our mouths feeling fresh and balanced. If you like something with a little more bite, then choose this!
