Snow and a Christmas dinner on the hottest day of the year all because filming had began of the 5th series of popular BBC1 period drama Father Brown.
Half the graveyard at the village’s St Peter and St Paul Church had been given a winter makeover as the producers of the programme, starring Mark Williams as Catholic priest-cum-crime-solving Father Brown filmed a nativity scene and local vicar Rev Dana Delap donned authentic post-war clothing for a walk-on, non-speaking role.

According to script writer Jude Tindal the programme is due to be aired in January but the nativity scene, which was complete with around a dozen children, extras, a donkey, ox and goat, being shown just before Christmas.
The programme’s producers also let slip that the episode did not contain a murder on this occasion but rather a baby kidnapping
As actors and crew sizzled in the 22 degree heat, local residents were allowed to take photographs of the winter-look scene.
