Disney Cars get a Silver makeover

Mattel to develop Disney Cars Silver Series for release in Spring 2012

Disney are to launch a new special edition range of Silver Series products from the very popular Cars film and franchise.

Lightning McQueen will look even cooler as he is given a silver makeover, with the new range to have their own back story which will be revealed in a special Silver Series edition magazine. New and exciting products such as planes will be designed which should please Cars fans.

As part of the new series, Mattel will develop new die-cast models, which will be produced with double Ransburg Zamak paint.

Disney is also set to expand the franchise with a new Planes range once, with a new film to release in August 2013, supported by a cross-company marketing campaign.

Walt Disney Company UK & Ireland BP of licensing and publishing Marianthi O’Dwyer said “The Cars franchise has strongly delivered in global retail sales, and with a wealth of new content and regularly refreshed product ranges, the success is set to continue,”

“We’re excited to be introducing Planes, the world above Cars, with a new feature film next August. Both vehicles align so well with boys’ play patterns and we’re excited about seeing ranges for Cars and Planes on many Christmas wish lists in 2013.”
