Waitrose has announced it’s Christmas food offerings for 2018 and here we’ve already got a sneak peak of what glorious things are to come.
Boozy mince pies and a Dark Chocolate & Orange Stollen wreath makes a very MERRY Christmas indeed.
We’re always counting down the days until the Winter nights draw in as it simply means Christmas will soon be knocking at our door and it seems Waitrose feels the same as the UK store announces it’s festive food selection, and we’re in for a treat.
So what are this years key highlights and flavours?
Juniper and Bitter Orange are one of this years key ingredients with a range of sweet and savoury dishes including: Yorkshire Wensleydale with Caramelised Orange & Gin, Bitter Orange & Juniper Stuffing and Waitrose 1 Dark Chocolate & Orange Stollen Wreath which is a luxury dark chocolate and orange stollen wreath filled with chocolate, marzipan and a tangy orange marmalade. Dipped in an orange liqueur and hand-finished with roasted hazelnuts and gold dusting, yeah we’re hungry too.
When it comes to quirky and innovative products Heston Blumenthal is no stranger, in fact every year the celebrity chef introduces one heck of a pudding and 2018 is no different with the launch of Golden Delicious Pudding, a moist pud filled with candied and fresh apple, cinnamon, cider and Calvados.

The traditional Cherry Bakewell has also been given the Blumenthal make over as it turns into a mince pie, filled with fruity mincemeat, sour cherries, sour cherry curd and a dash of Cherry Bakewell Vodka all encased in a sweet chocolate pastry, get us a box now.
Gracing the centre piece at dinner, you can choose from: Juniper Smoked Gammon with a Bitter Orange & Juniper Glaze, Heston from Waitrose Two Bird Wassailing Roast and a Chocolate, yes chocolate Bronze Feathered Turkey with Cranberry Truffles and a centre piece like no other with Cranberry Burst Turkey Parcel.
For non meat eaters Waitrose has provided a huge selection to choose from including Beet Wellington (Vegan), Pulled Jackfruit Tacos and a Nut & Grain Roast.
Boring side-dishes are a thing of the past as you can deck your table full with a range of delicious goodies including Vegetarian Parsnip Rösti Star Stack and Bitter Orange & Juniper Stuffing (also gluten free) and Butternut Squash’age Rolls.
Vegan’s can enjoy Parmentier Potatoes with Brewers Yeast & Wessex Stout and Chargrilled Sprouts with Smoked Paprika.
Making sure there’s something for everyone gluten-free options are also available, key highlights include – Free Range Easy Carve Guinea Fowl with a Pork, Apricot & Caramelised Red Onion Stuffing, Smoked Bacon and Sage Butter and Smoked Salmon & Horseradish Tart.
Christmas Desserts, drinks and cheese highlights, It wouldn’t be Christmas without a little over indulgence or a lot in our case, and with this new collection it’ll be hard to only have a few pieces especially when you see the Waitrose Chocolate & Toffee Wreath Cake.
The selection also includes, Heston from Waitrose Cocktail Compendium and Profiter’coals -Black profiterole ‘coals’ with a flame-coloured mandarin orange crème pâtissière filling are drizzled with a warmed smoked orange caramel sauce and scattered with crackling popping candy to give the magical illusion of glowing embers.

Vegan Waitrose 1 Pineapple & Coconut Panna Cotta and Chocolate Torte, Lemon & Raspberry Snowballs and Heston’s Tipsy Monkey Bread will also delight the taste buds this Xmas.
